Vision Assistant视觉助手默认安装路径如下C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Assistant\Vision Assistant.exe。

打开NI 视觉助手：1）Vision Assistant欢迎界面功能表 Open Image ：从本地或网络上打开图像文件； 2）Acquire Image：从相机中采集图像，如USB、 1394 、GIGE相机等相机中采集图像（需要安装VAS驱动）； 3）Solution Wizard：解决办法向导，查看NI视觉助手；4）选择需要的开发环境，如LabVIEW，C语言，.NET语言以及FPGA；5）最近打开的脚本；6）通过Browser打开脚本；7）通过帮助文档查看帮助信息；8)也可以寻求网上资源。

Image菜单和rocessing Function：Image包括如下功能函数：

Histogram：直方图，Line Profile：线剖面图，Measure：测量，3DView： 3D视图，Brightness： 亮度，Set Coordinate system：建立坐标系统，Image Mask：图像屏蔽，Geometry：几何，Image Buffer ：图像缓存，Get Image：获取图像，Image Calibration：图像标定，Image Correction：图像校准，Overlay：覆盖，Run LabVIEW VI：运行LabVIEW程序。

Color菜单和Processing Function：Color包括如下功能函数：

Color Operation：彩色运算，Extract Color Planes：抽取彩色平面，Color Threshold ：彩色阈值，Color Classification：彩色分类，Color Segmentation：彩色分割，Color matching：彩色匹配，Color Location：彩色定位，Color Pattern Matching：彩色模式匹配，Object Tracking：目标跟踪。

Grayscale菜单和Processing Function：GrayScale包括如下功能函数：

Lookup Table：查找表，Filters：滤波器，Gray Morphology：灰度形态学，Gray Morphological Reconstruction：灰度形态学重构，FFT Filter：傅里叶滤波，Threshold：阈值，Watershed：分水岭分割，Operator：运算，Conversion：转换类型，Quantify：定量分析，Centroid：质心，Detect Texture Defects：文理缺陷检测。

Edge Detector：边缘检测，Find Straight Edge：找直线，Advanced Straight Edge：高级直线边缘，Find Circular Edge：找圆边，MAX Clamp，Clamp(Rake)：夹钳功能，Pattern Matching：模式匹配，Geometric Matching：几何匹配，Object Tracking：目标跟踪，Contour Analysis：轮廓分析，Shape Detection：形状检测，Golden Template Comparison：金样比对，Caliper卡尺。

OCR/OCV：字符识别/字符验证，Particle Classification：零件分类，Barcode Reader：读取一维码，2DBarcode Reader：读取二维码。

Open Image：打开图片，Open AVI File：打开AVI格式文件，Save Image：保存图片，New Script：新建脚本，Open Script：打开脚本，Save Script：保存脚本，Save Script As：脚本另存为，Acquire Image：采样图片，Browser Images：浏览图片，Process Image：处理图片，Print Image：打印图片，Preferences：通用和配置，Exit：退出。

Edit step:编辑脚本步骤，Cut：剪切，Copy：复制，paste：粘贴，Delete：删除，Script Properties：脚本属性。

Batch Processing：批处理，Performance Meter：性能测试仪，View Measurements：查看结果，Create LabVIEW VI：生成LabVIEW VI，Create LabVIEW FPGA Code：生成LabVIEW FPGA 代码，Create C Code：生成C语言，Create .Net Code：生成 .Net语言。

Show Context help：脚本函数帮助，Online help：在线帮助，Solution Wizard ：解决方法范例，Patents：专利信息，About Vision Assistant：关于视觉助手。

Script脚本编辑程序区域包括：

New Script：新建脚本，Open Script：打开脚本，Save Script：保持脚本，Script Properties：脚本属性，Run Once：运行一次，Run in loop：循环运行，Step BackWard：向后运行一步，Step Forward：向前运行一步，Delete：删除，Edit Step：编辑步。

进行NI Vision Assistant视觉开发前，需要安装VDM和VAS。
